oh good.
they’re projecting that Hurricane Wilma (category 5) is going to nail Ft. Myers as a 3 or 4. after that, it’s supposed to cross Florida and exit Florida Saturday night at a 3 or 2 via… mmm… north of Palm Beach, south of Orlando… yeah, we’re in that region, but it looks south of us, maybe even south of West Palm.
sensationalist local news. always wanna tell me i’m about to get hit with a hurricane.
btw, Bikermommy, we’ll put up the storm shutters if we need to.

email your Aunt Wanda. she has called and emailed…love you…mommy…come here or go to Idaho…look at Fox news…
October 19th, 2005 at 12:22 pmOooh, SarahK, will this be your first time?
October 19th, 2005 at 1:32 pmWe here in Pereiraville like to have hurricane parties… when we buy hurricane supplies, we always include hurricane mix and rum… a great way to pass the storm by!
Last year, the big joke was anytime the news media (or anyone else, for that matter) said “hunker down” you were supposed to take a shot of whichever beverage you were imbibing.
Good times, good times. Which reminds me, we need to replenish the stash before Wilma comes a callin.
Here in Oregon, we all just heard on the radio that due to a massive Earthquake off the coast, there was an active tsunami warning for the entire coast.
About 30 minutes later, after much panic and mayhem, they announced “oh, we’re sorry, we were supposed to say ‘this is only a test’ and somehow left that out.”
Sheesh.
October 19th, 2005 at 3:33 pmPlease don’t take the hurricane lightly. There are a lot of people who wish they would have listened and evacuated when Katrina and Rita hit. And don’t put your family through torture worrying about you being there. ( and don’t sass your mom ) :)
October 19th, 2005 at 10:36 pmHi, Bikermommy and SarahK’s Aunt Wanda.
Can one, especially SarahK; possibly contemplate an extended Cross Country Road Trip in cramped quarters with Frank, Minerva and Sydney?
With the cats meowing and arguing off-key and backed up by Frank’s snoring?
I doubt that would play well on SarahK’s radiantly sunny disposition.
Jack.
October 20th, 2005 at 12:30 amOh Sure.. my first visit to Flordia.. and someone arranges a hurricane… :) Must be those hippie commies..
October 20th, 2005 at 5:56 amFlorida-based bloggers prepare for Wilma
I originally was going to include this in my “Catching My Eye” feature this morning but it soon became clear that it was going to get substantial enough for a post on its own.
October 20th, 2005 at 10:33 amQuite a few Florida-based bloggers are preparing for the arriv…
We’re praying for all of y’all down there.
Godspeed.
Be well.
October 20th, 2005 at 1:54 pmTo Jack—The ones I would feel worse for would have to be the cats!! Sarah, God love her, CAN be a little cranky in confined quarters! And I know this to be a fact! Oh, could I tell you stories of when she was young and would come stay with my girls!
October 25th, 2005 at 8:46 amAnd as far as Frank goes, well, he lives in Hurricane land, so what can I say???
Not really—They are wonderful ( of course I’m her aunt so I get paid to say things like that! :) )
