conversation in the car
we had plans to go to Target and exchange Frank’s videogame after our non-profit board meeting. so we were on our way to Target.
SARAHK: hey, do you wanna go by Petsmart on the way to Target and start pricing dog supplies and such?
FRANK J.: yeah, sure, we can do that.
and wouldn’t you know it, it was pet adoption day at Petsmart. doggonit.
so now we have a dog. she’s 3 years old, her name is Brownie. she’s part German Shepherd, part whatever, she’s 60 pounds. she’s got the sweetest disposition, and boy does she want to play with the cats. they’re not excited about her yet, but they don’t hate us, and they’re curious. especially Sydney.
she was left at the pound by people who are moving. she was an outdoor dog before, and now she’ll be indoors and she’ll get walked a lot. here are pictures…

now i have to change my jeans. she got poo on me. i so love dogs.

Congratulations! She looks like a fine dog and I’m sure she and the cats will be great friends in no time. You didn’t tell us her name. Enjoy!

February 18th, 2006 at 7:04 pmOur cats don’t have problems with our dog. In fact, part of their purpose in life is to annoy the dog at every opportunity.

February 19th, 2006 at 1:01 pmWoooooo! Happy day, Distructo dog joins the family! Just kidding, hehehe, anything breakable at tail wagging height may need a new home.
February 20th, 2006 at 8:15 amShe looks like a happy dog, look at those brown eyes-awwwww!
But about that 2nd pic, Frank he looks like he’s planning something, maybe training her to like the taste of cat, better keep an eye on him.
Congrats on the new member of your family!
well, whatever the Shepherd bred with is a short-haired short-tailed dog. her tail is about two inches long and curls a teeny bit at the end, as if it would be the GSD tail if it were longer. so yay! no tail-banging!
February 20th, 2006 at 9:18 amYet another Wooooooo! SHORT TAIL!!! A great bonus when you have a house dog!
