Since I’m from Texas, I’ve always been a fan of trucks. I always liked the way they looked, but I never knew how much I liked them until I drove one for the first time. Driving a truck is even better than driving my mid-sized SUV. I can’t just see over most people when I’m driving a truck, I can see over all of them. Plus, I just feel artificially tough when driving a truck. And I like the way they turn, like the way they park, like the way they move.

We may sell the SUV before we move (so we don’t have to pay to haul it), and when we get wherever we’re going, we might buy (for the same amount we sell the SUV for) a truck for me. It doesn’t need to be fancy, though I’d prefer it at least have air conditioning, a CD player, and a truck bed liner (I’m flexible on that), but it needs to run for two or three years.

  1. we test drove the Tundra recently. It was nice, but we’re just not truck people.

  2. Ooh. I’ve test-driven a Tundra before. Loved it.

  3. You can get a real steal on a T-1000 (what Toyota made before the Tundra). They are big and tough and won’t die, but far more practical than a Ford F-150 or similar vehicle.
